Deb, Steve, Jake, and Heather Wise in Volkach, Germany

Slept til 9 this morning after our nightmare trip over the big pond. We are 7 hours ahead of Texas so jet lag hit us. Once we were up, we hit the streets of Volkach, Jake and Heathers' hometown. We walked from their home to the downtown area in about 10 minutes. I was transported to the year 904 A.D.(when the town was started). It is picture perfect with the typical window boxes filled with gorgeous flowers overflowing. Since we are in the heart of the wine country, even grapevines are growing over the archways and cafes. We spent 3 1/2 hours walking, stopping for wine, at a cafe, and shopping. I bought the cutest bear head cookie cutter! This place is absolutely beautiful!Small village with less than 3,000 people. The temp today was like November at home and zero humidity! Only bad thing is I cannot speak German! After our walk we bought Italian ice cream from a local shop and headed home. Heather cooked a great German dish for dinner and now it is time for a glass of wine before bedtime! Ahhhh, what a life. Tomorrow we are traveling to Garmisch, Germany on the border of Austria (in the Alps).
Do we have our luggage, you ask? NO, WE DO NOT! But who cares? We are relaxing and living by the "Don't Worry, Be Happy" motto now...Love to you all and I look forward to sharing with you tomorrow, Deb

  1. Hey Guys! Love the pictures! I have tried to post twice, but not sure they went through.
Glad you are having a great time. Who needs clothes?!!

Kitty was so glad to see us. She was waiting at the door when we went in. We played with her a little while before we left. You got some good rain today.

All is fine here. Just have fun and give our love to the "kids".
